Color Psychology

Color Therapy is not just another holistic therapy. Color Psychology is the study of the effect that colors have on our behavior. Different colors cause different behavior, which is the core of Aura Therapeía's Color System.

There are universal, cultural and individual color associations. Color trends play a part in color preference, especially in fashion and in interior design. Color preference is also highly affected by color experiences from childhood.

Swiss Psychiatrist Karl Young who studied the effects of color found that warm colors like red, yellow and orange brought about feelings of comfort and warmth in people. They may also evoke feelings of hostility and anger. Cool colors like green, blue and violet tend to evoke feelings of indifference, calmness and even sadness. Pale colors bring about feelings of tranquility, while bright and intense colors evoke excitement in a person.
A more comprehensive list covering the psychology of 49 colors are included in the Aura Therapeía Courses.
